Bha.Raa.Tha Academy was founded in 2016 by Mrs. Thanuja Sathyajith, a passionate dancer and an Engineer by profession. Thanuja started learning dance at the age of 7 as disciple of Natyarathnam Manoj. She also have Dr. Kalamandalam Radhika (Ambassador of Mohiniyattom) and Kalakshethra Krishnan (Disciple of Padmabhooshan Dhananjayan) as her mentors.
Bha.Raa.Tha became a registered entity from 2017 and has 30+ students learning Bharathanatyam, Carnatic Music and Keyboard in its platform. The 2nd Anniversary of Bha.Raa.Tha Academy was celebrated as a National level DanceFestival, Bharaatholsavam-2K18, on 23 & 24 Feb 2018 which had the presence of eminent dancers and gurus namely, Dr. Kalamandalam Radhika, Kalimaamani Gopika Varma, Smt. Geetha Padmakumar and Asst. Prof. Aswini Nambiar (REVAUniversity) performing during the event and encouraged and blessed by the presence of Dr. Vasanth Kiran (Director of Performing Arts, REVAUniversity).
Indian Classical dances focus not only on the rhythmic body movements with music, but it gets into the depth of body, soul and spirit of the performer and resonates to the audience. The classical dances of India are structured as an exercise also to self-boost once confidence and mental and physical health. It also brings the sense of respect to all beings and concern for the nature, which is the very essence of the culture and tradition of India. Bha.Raa.Tha focus on these aspects and formulate its learning schedules to share this knowledge.
Bharaatholsavam – 2K17 is the First Anniversary celebration of Bha.Raa.Tha Academy at Sri Valampuri Vinayaka Temple, Banaswadi, Bangalore on 11 Mar 2017. Dancers from Bharaatha family and many other passionate dancers performed during this anniversary celebration. Also Bharaatholsavam – 2K17 became a venue for the bringing out of Mr. Ravindran Pottekkat’s first book – Infatuation (A collection of short stories).
Bharaatholsavam - 2K18, the Second Anniversary of Bha.Raa.Tha Academy was celebrated as a National Level Dance Festival at Indira Nagar Sangeetha Sabha, Purandara Bhavana Hall, Bangalore, on 23 & 24 Feb 2018. Dr. M Veerappa Moili (Ex Choef Minister of Karnataka and MP) was invited as the Chief Guest along with Bhatnagar Award winner, Dr. S. Ramakrishnan (Deputy Director, IISC Bangalore) . Bharaatholsavam - 2K18 had the presence of eminent dancers and gurus namely, Dr. Kalamandalam Radhika, Kalimaamani Gopika Varma, Smt. Geetha Padmakumar and Asst. Prof. Aswini Nambiar (REVAUniversity) performing during the event and encouraged and blessed by the presence of Dr. Vasanth Kiran (Director of Performing Arts, REVAUniversity). Artists from different part of the country performed during this event.
Also Schools like Deen’s Acaademy, Bangalore, NPS Bangalore, Shree Cauvery School, Bangalore were associated with the event and the students from these schools performed during the same.
Dr. Kalamandalam Radhika was honoured with Life Time Achievement Award by Dr. S. Ramakrishnan.

Cognizance is a dance drama Written & Directed By Thanuja Sathyajith involving Indian Classical Dance and Yoga in association with MaaYog. The theme of this dance drama was focused on the need to Save Nature for a better tomorrow. Mr. Nikhil Sivakumar has done the music composition for Cognizance.
